This is Ivanka Trump moving gracefully as she practices a traditional Indian folk dance while attending an extravagant pre-wedding party hosted by Asia’s richest man for the forthcoming marriage of his son.

Ivanka joined other female guests for a performance of the dance, which is known as dandiya and involves gyrating while hitting colourful wooden sticks against each other in rhythmic beats.

Also known as the ‘garba’, the dance originates from the western Indian state of Gujrat and is performed at religious and other special occasions.

A video posted on social media, set to a traditional Gujrati song showed Ivanka in an elegant white dress smiling and laughing as she took part in the folk dance. It was accompanied with the words: ‘Ivanka Trump’s Daughter Enjoying Garba In India. Such A Proud Movement’s,’ accompanied by smiling face emojis and the Indian flag.

Ivanka attended a series of glittering festivities with her partner Jared Kushner and their daughter Arabella Rose Kusher.

Pictures from Saturday night’s event showed Ivanka looking stunning in a sparkling silver and gold sari while Jared wore a traditional black Nehru jacket. 

Ivanka was one of an illustrious array of guests attending three-days of festivities in Jamnagar, Gujrat hosted by billionaire tycoon Mukesh Ambani for his son Anant, 28, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of wealthy pharmaceutical moguls, who are due to marry in July.

Other guests included Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, BlackRock co-founder Larry Fink, Alphabet chief executive Sundar Pichai, former Canadian PM Stephen Harper, and former Australian PM Kevin Rudd. 

Guests were treated to performance by Diljit Dosanjh, one of India’s most popular singers and three of the country’s leading Bollywood actors; Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

Indian cricket icons Sachin Tendulkar and M.S. Dhoni, and industry titan Gautam Adani as well as a who’s-who of India’s super-rich elite were also in attendance.

The three-day extravaganza is reported to have cost a staggering £120 million and was kicked off by Rihanna, who is believed to have been paid £5 million for a two-hour performance.

Pictures and videos from the event showed an illustrious array of guests dressed in elegant attire attending what has been described as the most expensive wedding festivities in Indian history.

Other entertainment for 1,000 guests over the weekend included a display by acrobats from Cirque do Soleil, a light and drone show, a walk around an elephant sanctuary run by the Ambani family and an appearance by renowned American illusionist and magician David Blaine.

Around 100 chefs are on hand preparing more than 500 dishes with guests staying in luxury accommodation especially built for the occasion.

Guests are also expected to visit a nearby animal rescue centre that is home to more than 2,000 animals. 

According to a leaked planning documents, the dress code for the visit is ‘jungle fever.’ 

Ambani, 66, is chairman of Reliance Industries – India’s biggest company by market capitalisation – and the world’s 10th-richest person, according to the Forbes billionaires list, worth more than $116billion. He is the richest man in India and Asia.

Anant is the youngest of his three children, all of whom are on the board of Reliance Industries. 

The 28-year-old works in Reliance’s energy businesses.
