Jack Schlossberg brought a van to greet Senator Chuck Schumer and the Kennedy heir left with a job from Washington’s most powerful Democrat.
Schlossberg continues to capture attention with his often unusual social media activity, leading to sharp criticism from Cheryl Hines, his mother Caroline’s sister-in-law, earlier this week.
Jack, aged 32, is the son of Caroline and Edwin Schlossberg. Cheryl Hines is married to RFK Jr., the son of Robert ‘Bobby’ Kennedy, who was the brother of President John F. Kennedy.
On Monday, Schlossberg made his most direct overture into legitimate politics to date by inviting Schumer on his YouTube series, Test Drive.
He posted a photo of him greeting the Senate Minority Leader in front of a vehicle with a sign reading: ‘WELCOME TO MY VAN MR. SENATOR!’
The caption he wrote teased: ‘SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT INCOMING @senschumer and I cooked up a delicious meal — you’ll love it!!’
Although the complete details of the ride Schlossberg and Schumer took haven’t been shared yet, it seems that the Kennedy descendant has secured a prestigious new position. The Senator appointed Schlossberg to the America 250 Commission, which is in charge of celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Schumer referred to his host as ‘the great Jack Schlossberg’ as they stood at the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

He said he was giving Schlossberg the position ‘to push back at Donald Trump’ who will want his own ideas to dominate America’s birthday.
‘You’ll be there to stop him,’ Schumer reassured.
Schlossberg then ranted about how the 250th anniversary needed to go against what he sees as Trump’s values.
‘Thank you, Senator, for this honor, for your leadership. For the honor of this appointment. We are the heirs of our first revolution 250 years ago and at our best moments, our country has lived up to our founding documents, but we have not always come through,’ he said.
‘Right now, our civil rights are under attack, equal justice is under attack, scientific progress is under attack and I want to make sure that we celebrate our country for all of its colors and there is no more important task than celebrating our history for the sake of our future.’
Schumer’s Instagram post continued: ‘I’m thrilled to announce I’m appointing Jack Schlossberg @jackuno to the America 250 Commission. We need someone who will make sure America’s 250th birthday celebrates our nation and our values. And I can’t think of a better person than Jack to take on that mission.’
In recent months, Schlossberg has concerned onlookers with bizarre online behavior that included demanding conservative journalist Megyn Kelly show him her privates.
Schlossberg also mocked the private pain of his late grandmother Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis and regularly takes to social media, where he is attempting to build a name for himself.

While the full ride Schlossberg and Schumer took has yet to be posted, it appears the Kennedy heir left with a prestigious new job, as the Senator named Schlossberg to the America 250 Commission, celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary
Just last week, Schlossberg goaded Hines, best known for her role in TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm, and her husband RFK Jr over a post made by RFK Jr wishing his wife a happy anniversary.
Schlossberg replied: ‘What does she let you do on your birthday?’ with no further context provided.
Hines’ husband has long been seen as the ‘black sheep’ of the Kennedy political dynasty thanks to his increasingly conservative views and suspicion of vaccines.
But now Schlossberg appears to have joined him on the family’s list of shame. Caroline Kennedy has yet to make any public comment on her son’s behavior.
In late July, Schlossberg posted a picture of Hines with text saying ‘CONGRATS !!!!’ and ‘Most measles cases in 33 years’.
This is referencing RFK Jr.’s controversial opposition to many common vaccines – which Schlossberg has publicly shamed him for on multiple occasions.
Back when RFK Jr. was running for president, Schlossberg called his candidacy an ’embarrassment’ and questioned why anyone would think he should win the election.
RFK Jr later threw his support behind Donald Trump and was rewarded the prestige post of US Health Secretary after Trump’s second inauguration in January.

Kennedy heir Jack Schlossberg has been slammed by his famous family member as self-obsessed and fame hungry

Hines openly discussed the behavior of Schlossberg, 32 – who is the only grandson of John F. Kennedy through his mother Caroline Kennedy (pictured with her son)
Schlossberg’s behavior has continuously raised eyebrows.
After briefly serving as Vogue’s political correspondent, the Kennedy heir seemingly began to focus more on producing content for his own social media.
The 32-year-old baffled his followers in July when he went on an Instagram rant about mangoes.
After discovering that there are more than 1,000 types of mangoes, he shared the fun fact with his 696,000 followers, saying ‘I had no idea!’
He then captioned the post: ‘Mango party mango crazy.’
Schlossberg became especially heated online about Ryan Murphy’s most recent project ‘American Love Story’, which focuses on the romance of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.
The Kennedy heir branded the show ‘grotesque’ and called upon Murphy to donate money to the JFK Library Foundation instead of taking advantage and profiting off the couple’s tragic love story.
Murphy expressed surprise over Schlossberg’s comments, saying ‘I thought it was an odd choice to be mad about your relative that you don’t really remember.’
Schlossberg clapped back in an Instagram post, in which he shared heartfelt memories of his Uncle.
‘Hey @ryanmurphyproductions: My earliest memories are of John calling me Jackolatern and “the nudist,” picking me up from school, his Pontiac convertible. I remember being the ring bearer at his wedding and the day he died. I remember Wyclef singing at his funeral.’
Schlossberg’s mother is Caroline Kennedy – the only daughter of Jackie and JFK – who was five years old when her father was assassinated in 1963.
His father is Edwin Schlossberg, an American designer, artist and author. Schlossberg has two older sisters, artist Rose, 37, and journalist Tatiana, 35.
