JSO: Man dead after being shot at Jacksonville Circle K

The deadly shooting happened around 10 p.m. Sunday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after he was shot at a Circle K on Jacksonville’s Southside Sunday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO Sergeant Ray Reeves said that at approximately 10 p.m., patrol officers were called to the Circle K, located at 8837 Beach Blvd., in reference to the man being shot. When they arrived, the man was found injured with one gunshot wound, according to Reeves.

Police say first responders with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the scene and took the man to a local hospital where he later died.

“There is an adult male suspect in custody and detective[s] are speaking with him,” Reeves told First Coast News. “We are working with the Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office. At this time the classification is pending.”

JSO did not release the identities of the man killed nor the man being questioned by them.
