Pet owners in Northeast Florida are invited to bring up to three of their furry friends for complimentary vaccinations and microchipping this Sunday, February 22.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Who can resist the allure of something free?

The Jacksonville Humane Society has teamed up with Petco Love to host a no-cost pet vaccination and microchipping event on Sunday, February 22. This initiative aims to make preventative pet care more accessible to residents across Northeast Florida.

Pet owners can bring up to three dogs or cats, which will be attended to on a first-come, first-served basis from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the shelter’s Pet Help Services entrance.

Each pet will receive essential core vaccines, including FVRCP for cats and DAPP for dogs. Additionally, rabies vaccinations will be provided unless pet owners present proof that their animals are already vaccinated. Residents of Duval County should note that a $20 pet licensing fee, mandated by the City of Jacksonville, may apply.

“Petco Love has already vaccinated close to 4 million pets since launching their Vaccinated & Loved campaign, and the 4 millionth pet vaccinated will happen right here in Jacksonville,” the shelter said on social media. “Will your pet be the lucky one?”

All animals served will leave with a microchip if they don’t already have one, which could help prevent a lost pet cat-astrophe in the future. Once inserted, owners can register their contact information to the chip.

All pets at the clinic must be at least 12 weeks of age or older. Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in a carrier.

Although there are no guarantees that your pets will be seen, owners can register in advance online to speed up the visit.
