Stabbing in Jacksonville leaves woman dead, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is dead after a stabbing in Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon, police say.

At around 3:00 p.m., officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) responded to Peach Drive in reference to assisting Jacksonville Fire Rescue. After arriving, JSO said the officers found a woman in her mid 50s suffering from stab wounds outside of a home.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

Details at this time are limited. However, officials say four people have been detained for questioning. 

The sheriff’s office is working with the medical examiner and state attorney’s office as an investigation continues.
