A man from Jacksonville has significantly boosted his bank account by $600,000 after securing a $1 million prize from a scratch-off lottery ticket. The winning ticket was purchased at a grocery store on Jacksonville’s Southside, as reported by the Florida Lottery on Friday.
Billy Pitman, a 61-year-old resident, struck it lucky with the “$25,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER” scratch-off game. Opting for a one-time, lump-sum payout, Pitman walked away with $638,100 after claiming his prize at the Florida Lottery’s headquarters in Tallahassee on November 17.
The winning ticket was bought from the Winn-Dixie situated at 11380 Beach Blvd, as disclosed in the lottery’s official statement.
The “$25,000,000 GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER” game, which Pitman played, offers players a chance at two massive $25 million top prizes, along with 60 prizes of $1 million. The overall odds of winning in this game stand at 1-in-4.09, according to the Florida Lottery.
