Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute experiencing 300 layoffs

Employees are being laid off from eight local centers between May 30 and July 13, according to the state.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute plans to lay off more than 300 employees in the next few months in various therapy, tech and administrative positions.

Employees are being laid off from eight local centers between May 30 and July 13, according to the state. The Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute is owned by Baptist Health.

“These closures are expected to be permanent and will affect all employees working at those locations,” the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice stated. There will be 306 layoffs, the notice said.

The positions include but are not limited to: physician, radiology technologist, medical secretary, patient account representative, appointment scheduler and medical assistant.

Mandarin Rehabilitation -2

Atlantic Rehabilitation-2 

Fleming Island Rehabilitation-18

World Golf Village Rehabilitation-8

San Marco Rehabilitation-12
