Authorities from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office have taken 25-year-old Benwah Wilson into custody after uncovering more than 68 pounds of marijuana at his residence.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In a significant drug bust, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Benwah Wilson, 25, after officers discovered almost 70 pounds of marijuana at his westside Jacksonville home.

The incident unfolded on February 11 when police responded to a call about gunshots near Wilcox Street and West 5th Street. Upon arrival, they noticed Wilson’s house was riddled with bullet holes, prompting them to perform a safety sweep.

During their sweep of the home, officers reportedly found 68 pounds of marijuana in clear sight, alongside several bullet holes piercing the interior walls.

Detectives from the Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant and seized two firearms—a Glock and a rifle—as well as over $2,000 in cash.

Wilson is facing multiple charges, including trafficking in marijuana, possession of felony paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and knowingly renting a structure for the sale of narcotics. Police said all of the charges are felonies.

Wilson was released on bond.
