Jacksonville police officer shot near Morse Avenue

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — This is a developing story. Police are expected to hold a briefing at 11:45 a.m. – Come back to this story to watch the livestream. 

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death in a Northwest Jacksonville neighborhood.

Police told First Coast News they responded to a reported shooting near Castle Boulevard and Portsmouth Avenue, in the Sherwood Forest area. They could not confirm that someone was actually shot.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue confirmed that one person was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
