JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities report that a man is recovering from gunshot wounds sustained after he opened a door and was fired upon by an unknown individual.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Broward Road vicinity, as detailed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Officers discovered the victim with gunshot wounds to both his chest and leg.

According to a press release, the man was at a friend’s residence when he responded to a knock at the door and was subsequently shot by an unidentified male.

He was promptly transported to a hospital, where medical staff confirmed his injuries are not life-threatening, and he is currently in stable condition.

Detectives canvassed the area for video surveillance and spoke with witnesses to find out who was involved in this shooting.
