The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has arrested Monae Woodward Boone, 26, in relation to the crime.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in a murder investigation in the Hogans Creek area.

Police say Monae Woodward Boone, 26, has been charged with murder in the second degree, false imprisonment and aggravated battery.

JSO Sgt. Robbie Henson said around 3 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, officers responded to a home in the 800 block of West 18th Street regarding an “altercation.”

According to Henson, officers then surrounded the home, while a SWAT team responded.

After the SWAT team arrived on scene and gave “extensive attempts” to have everyone inside the home exit it, Henson said SWAT cleared the house.

During this time, Henson says a person, later identified as James Fisher, 68, was found dead.

JSO says that Woodward Boone is now being held in the Duval County Jail.
