JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after he walked into a hospital with gunshot wounds following a Jacksonville shooting, authorities say.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says this happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Phillips Highway, where officers responded to a call about someone being shot. They did not locate anyone at the time.
Some time later, JSO says a man walked into a hospital with gunshot wounds. Investigators later confirmed he was the person who had been shot earlier.
The unidentified man died from his injuries a short time later.
Detectives with the JSO Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Unit are investigating this incident.
