The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the victim as Jervas Williams.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A teenager has been taken into custody following a tragic incident on Jacksonville’s Westside, where, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, he allegedly fatally stabbed his father late Tuesday night. The suspect, just 17 years old, was apprehended early Wednesday morning.
The authorities reported that they were dispatched to a residence on Wheeler Avenue, near Blanding Boulevard, shortly before 7 p.m. in response to the reported stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Jervas Williams, the teen’s father, suffering from several stab wounds. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department personnel were quickly on the scene but sadly pronounced Williams dead at his home, as stated by JSO Sgt. Dishman.
The Sheriff’s Office indicated that, after evaluating evidence and conducting interviews with several witnesses present at the time of the incident, Williams’ son was swiftly identified as the primary suspect in the case.
