BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — Staff at the Bradford County Jail stopped a man from bringing in a hidden loaded gun while being booked Sunday, the sheriff’s office said in a social media post Tuesday.
An unidentified arrestee was taken to jail Sunday on charges of driving under the influence, the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office said.
During the intake process, the sheriff’s office said correctional staff performed a body scan on the man and discovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun attached to his belt buckle. The buckle was made to conceal small guns, police said.

The gun was confiscated and turned over as evidence.
The man was charged with the introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison, five years’ probation and a $5,000 fine.
“This incident could have had such a different outcome if not for the diligence and attention to detail of these officers,” the sheriff’s office said on social media.
