Jake Paul claims Mike Tyson was diagnosed with Parkinson's

Jake Paul surprised fans recently by seemingly disclosing that boxing legend Mike Tyson had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease before their live match on Netflix.

Tyson, 58, was beaten by YouTuber Paul, 28, in Dallas in November, after suffering multiple health scares in the build-up to the fight.

Tyson later disclosed that he had a near-death experience requiring eight blood transfusions in June. An ulcer flare-up in May initially led to the cancellation of their initial fight, which was later rescheduled.

During a Kick livestream, Paul made a startling claim suggesting that Tyson had previously battled Parkinson’s disease. However, this claim has not been officially confirmed by Tyson’s team.

In a conversation discussing various psychedelic drugs with Adin Ross, Paul said: ‘Ayahuasca is really good for your brain as well. And same with toad!

‘Toad cured Tyson’s Parkinson’s so that he could come back and fight.’ When asked how it worked, he replied: ‘You smoke it.’

Despite Paul’s claims that Tyson was ‘cured’, Parkinson’s is currently incurable, and doctors are yet to find a way to eliminate the disease from the body.

Instead, there are various treatments to manage the symptoms and improve quality of life.

Representatives for Mike Tyson did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali was previously diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1984, and his health deteriorated prior to his death in June 2016.

He was diagnosed at the age of 42 and lived with the disease for 32 years before he died at hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Tyson’s return to the ring was hugely controversial throughout the build-up, with many urging the boxing legend to reconsider his decision.

Speaking on the red carpet at a horse racing event last month, Tyson admitted that he hasn’t fully recovered from his fight with Paul.

In the immediate aftermath of the bout, Tyson claimed he ‘blanked out’ during the fight and didn’t remember elements of it.

‘You know what I remember? Coming back from the first round, and then the next thing I remember, Jake is doing some kind of bow,’ he told Covino & Rich on FOX Sports.

It is understood Tyson took home a $20million paycheck for his night in the ring with YouTube sensation Paul.

In his professional career, Tyson recorded 50 wins, seven losses and one draw.

He has seven children with three women, and has been married three times.

He is currently married to Lakiha Spicer, and after the Paul bout her feelings on Tyson fighting again were made very clear.

Tyson’s son, Amir, told Seconds Out: ‘I think he’s done. My stepmom, she’s saying he’s done and they’re a team. That’s husband-and-wife stuff.’

Worried for his father’s safety, Amir fears his plea to tell Mike to call it quits would go in one ear and out the other.

Speaking to SunSport, Amir said: ‘That chat would be a waste of time! He is his own man.’
