James Van Der Beek shares playful new video amid cancer battle as wife gushes he's 'bouncing back'

She’s undoubtedly his biggest cheerleader.

James Van Der Beek delighted fans with a lighthearted Instagram video showcasing his football skills, even as he navigates his battle with cancer. His wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, couldn’t help but admire his talent in the comments.

In the video shared on Monday, the former “Dawson’s Creek” star donned his iconic jersey from the 1999 film “Varsity Blues” as part of a fundraising effort for his cancer treatment.

James skillfully handled a football, spinning it on his finger and offering a full view of the white jersey adorned with royal blue number 4 and the name Moxon, his character from the film, emblazoned on the back.

“Due to popular demand! My cherished jersey. Perhaps it’s the thrill of the football plays we executed during the away game sequences, but wearing the varsity whites always brings me joy,” he wrote in the post’s caption.

“Last year when I released the Blues jersey, I was blown away by the love and support I received from all of you. It has meant more than I can ever express,” James, 48, added.

The “Dancing With the Stars” alum also thanked his fans “for the love, the prayers, the support, and for making this jersey mean something far bigger than a movie.”

“Endlessly grateful for all of you,” he wrote.

James shared that proceeds of the signed jerseys will go to helping him and other families battling cancer.

The actor’s wife, Kimberly, 43, took to the comments section of the post to gush over her beau.

“You’re a wizard. Bouncing back baby!! 😍😍😍,” she wrote.

Last November, James announced that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer and has been “privately dealing with this diagnosis” and “taking steps to resolve it.”

“There’s reason for optimism, and I’m feeling good,” he told People in a statement.

Though James wanted to keep his health issues private for longer, he wrote on Instagram that he had to come forward with the diagnosis when he “was informed that a tabloid was going to run with the news.”

Earlier this month, the dad of six revealed he was going to auction off personal memorabilia from his hit show “Dawson’s Creek” to help fund his cancer treatments.

Items that will go up for sale next month include the necklace his character, Dawson, gifted Joey (portrayed by Katie Holmes) for prom, which is estimated to be worth between $26,400 and $52,800, and the outfit Dawson wore in the pilot episode.
