Giants fans who view Jaxson Dart as their future star quarterback received a timely reminder on Friday to appreciate the work of Brian Daboll, especially during this post-Thanksgiving period.
Returning from the concussion protocol after a two-game absence, Dart spoke publicly for the first time since Daboll’s dismissal on November 10. Expectedly, he expressed the most heartfelt sentiment regarding the departure of his staunchest supporter, whose tenure ended with a disappointing 3-19 record over 22 games.
“I might not even be here if it weren’t for him,” Dart remarked following his second full practice session. “I have immense respect and affection for Coach Dabes. We share a close bond, so witnessing his exit, particularly in my rookie year, was tough. I’m focused on controlling what I can and progressing, but I wish we could have achieved more victories for him as a team.”
After recovering fully from the first concussion in his football journey, Dart is set to lead the team on Monday night against the Patriots.
