JEA said the I-295 North off-ramp at San Jose Boulevard will be closed after 9 a.m. Thursday in order for crews to complete “permanent asphalt restoration.”

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — JEA crews made emergency repairs to a water main that was damaged by a third-party contractor on San Jose Boulevard near Interstate 295 Wednesday evening, according to the utility.

Crews closed the northbound I-295 off-ramp at San Jose Boulevard starting at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday while repairing the water main. JEA then reopened the off-ramp around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

However, JEA told First Coast News the off-ramp will be closed again temporarily after 9 a.m. Thursday for crews to complete “permanent asphalt restoration.” The utility said the work is expected to take “about four hours.”

The water main break resulted in a disruption of water service for some customers in the area, JEA said.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding during this work,” JEA said in a press release.
