It’s a heartwarming reunion that fans of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will surely cherish: Jim Carrey and Taylor Momsen, who starred together in the iconic film, crossed paths once again. This memorable encounter occurred at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday night, marking 25 years since the movie’s premiere.

Jim Carrey, now 63, and Taylor Momsen, 32, captured the moment with a series of photographs at the event. It was here that Carrey disclosed an astonishing detail to reporters, as reported by KNX News. “We haven’t seen each other since the Grinch,” he revealed, highlighting the long gap since their last meeting.

Momsen, echoing the sentiment, chimed in with a touch of nostalgia, “25 years!” This reunion not only brought back fond memories of their roles but also delighted fans who have followed their careers since the film’s debut. The gathering at the prestigious ceremony was a fitting backdrop for this unexpected yet delightful encounter between the two stars.

“We haven’t seen each other since the Grinch,” Carrey told reporters, according to KNX News.

“25 years!” Momsen added.

Momsen, who was 7 years old when she played little Cindy Lou Who, revealed this week that she had no clue what Carrey looked like while filming the movie, as her co-star was always wearing the iconic green costume and makeup.

“Jim Carrey is the Grinch.” Momsen said on Thursday’s “Call Her Daddy,” “So I didn’t know who Jim was until the premiere and someone had to point him out to me and go, ‘That’s Jim,’ and I went, ‘Oh, Jim.’”

Momsen claimed she was never frightened by Carrey and even felt protected by the actor despite his appearance.

“I get asked a lot if he scared me, because I think a lot of kids were scared of the Grinch,” she said. “He was never scary to me. To me, he was always Jim, and he was always in makeup.

“He was very protective of me,” Momsen added. “He was very kind, super funny, super animated, absolutely awesome.”

Carrey recently reminisced on his time on the Grinch set, saying it was “a lucky thing in my life.”

“I’m so gratified [the Grinch] is one of the yule logs people go to,” he told Extra in December 2024. “When it pops up every year, I’m really happy about it.”

Momsen appeared in several more movies before she retired from acting and became the frontwoman for the rock band “The Pretty Reckless.”

She performed on stage at the ceremony with Soundgarden, who had their own reunion Saturday night for their Hall of Fame induction.

The child-actress turned singer joined the chorus of special guests to perform with the band’s surviving members, drummer Matt Cameron, guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Ben Shepherd, as well as original bassist Hiro Yamamoto.

The rock band’s all-star guest lineup included Brandi Carlile, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell and Momsen, according to Consequence Sound.

Carrey inducted the band alongside Lilly Cornell Silver, daughter of the band’s late frontman Chris Cornell, and recalled the first time he met the band, when he was hosting “Saturday Night Live!” in 1996.

” I insisted on Soundgarden as the musical guest,” the “Bruce Almighty” star said. “They launched into the dark, epic beauty of ‘Pretty Noose.’

“I stood right in front of them, letting the waves of electricity wash over me, like an audio baptism. They pushed me under, and when I came up, I was free,” Carrey said. “After the show, they handed me what is to this day one of my most prized possessions. The Fender Telecaster Chris Cornell played on the show, signed by the whole band.”
