Jimmy Kimmel Calls Jeff Bezos Out For Not Listing Trump’s Tariffs On Amazon: He “Folded Faster Than An Amazon Basics Umbrella”

During a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late night host criticized what he referred to as President Trump’s “lapdogs” and specifically targeted Jeff Bezos for backing down on a new Amazon policy after pressure from Trump.

Highlighting a segment from the White House briefing, Jimmy Kimmel showed Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt criticizing Amazon for supposedly considering listing tariff costs on their products.

“I love that idea! I think that’s fantastic,” Kimmel raved. “Isn’t this the thing they always brag about? Transparency?”

Leavitt countered by deeming the potential action as “hostile and political,” and she highlighted a Reuters report indicating Amazon’s collaboration with a “Chinese propaganda arm.”

“Now they’re quoting Reuters. On Monday, that was propaganda, too,” Kimmel pointed out, before adding, “But Trump was reportedly very upset about this brilliant idea so much so he called Jeff Bezos to scream at him about it. Why? I don’t know. Those are the beautiful tariffs he’s so proud of.”

He continued, “They’re gonna make us rich. He should be demanding they put his name on them. I demand they put his name on them!”

“Unfortunately, after speaking to Trump, Bezos folded faster than an Amazon Basics umbrella and that will not happen,” Kimmel said.

The late night host has ruthlessly criticized the tech entrepreneurs who have bended the knee to Trump during his presidency.

He wasted no time in calling out Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg for rolling back Meta’s fact checking regulations in alignment with Trump’s agenda, which could aid the spread of misinformation.

“We call it the ol’ suck and Zuck,” he said.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
