Joe Rogan Suggests Los Angeles Residents Have Received Excessive COVID-19 Booster Shots

Joe Rogan recently quipped that Los Angeles residents may be oblivious to the city’s rapid decline due to receiving too many Covid booster shots.

The outspoken podcaster was joined by comedian Tom Segura on Monday, where they discussed the ‘delusional’ condition of the California city, which has been grappling with rising crime rates, open-air drug markets, and homelessness over the years.

In their latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, the UFC commentator and Segura delved into a two-hour discussion about the city’s current state, agreeing that Los Angeles residents generally fall into two categories.

“There are two types now,” Segura explained to Rogan. “Those who recognize that things have changed, and those who live in denial.”

“I know many people who say, ‘Yeah, of course, it’s different,'” Segura continued. “You can see it—this place is not what it was several years ago.”

But, according to Segura, the other group thinks: ‘No man everything’s fine. [And] you’re like, you’re not in reality right now.’

Rogan, 58, then suggested the reason why some Angelenos can’t see the deterioration of the city. 

‘Well, they probably had seven or eight boosters, so maybe they’re not thinking so straight. Those are the people that keep getting boosted,’ he said, referring to the Covid-19 booster shots that followed the initial vaccine during the 2020 pandemic.

Segura then asked: ‘Do people still do that?’ 

‘100 percent. People take pictures and put it up on X. You never know what’s real on X, though,’ Rogan responded. 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still recommends that people ages six months and older get their updated Covid-19 booster vaccinations every year, according to the public health agency. 

Vaccines have long been a sour spot that liberals and conservatives do not agree on, and the Golden State has long been known for its Democratic views and leadership – especially in the City of Angels. 

But all of that could change as the Los Angeles mayoral election nears, with former reality TV star Spencer Pratt, city councilmember Nithya Raman, and incumbent Mayor Karen Bass – among others – fighting for the seat. 

Pratt has come on full force, pushing his first-ever political campaign forward following the disastrous 2025 LA wildfires that burnt he and his wife Heidi Montag’s Pacific Palisades home to the ground. 

He has built his campaign on advocating for those who were affected by the fires, while blasting Mayor Bass for how she managed the emergency last year. 

With just days until the election, Pratt has made it clear that, despite what some might think, he is not affiliated with any political party.

‘Everyone is trying to claim me for their tribe,’ the 42-year-old wrote on X on Saturday. ‘There’s no R next to my name, there’s no D next to my name.

‘I’m not part of a political party, because I hate politicians.

‘I’m just Spencer, husband to Heidi, father to Ryker and Gunner, and I’m a pissed off Angeleno who loves my city and is fed up with what corrupt politicians have done to her.’

Throughout their discussion, Rogan and Segura touched upon Pratt putting his hat in the mayoral race. 

When asked by Rogan if he thinks Pratt has a chance at winning the election, the comedian said: ‘I think anyone’s got a chance. I think if you put together a campaign that gets some excitement and people talking, you have a chance in LA. I really do. Like that city, the people there are-.’ 

Rogan then cut him off and chimed in: ‘They’re desperate.’ 

Segura agreed, adding: ‘They’re desperate. And also, they live for entertainment. So, entertain them a little.’

Both of them agreed that Pratt has indeed entertained Los Angeles residents, with Rogan applauding the candidate for his latest campaign stunt. 

In a new campaign video, Pratt donned a hazmat-style outfit while placing a stencil down and power washing a dirty Los Angeles sidewalk. 

As he did so, his campaign slogan appeared on the pavement, reading: ‘Imagine if the streets were this clean. Spencer Pratt for Mayor.’ 

Rogan admired the clip as Segura added: ‘I mean, if you think that guy doesn’t have a chance, I would remind you that your president is a reality show f***ing host.’ 

‘I think he’s good, I think his ideas are good,’ Rogan said of Pratt.   

The Los Angeles Mayoral election is on June 2, but if no candidate receives a majority of the vote, a runoff election will be held on November 3.
