John Legend exemplified chivalry when his wife, Chrissy Teigen, experienced a wardrobe mishap at the 2026 American Music Awards.
The duo graced the event in Las Vegas on Monday, with Teigen dazzling in a striking floor-length beaded orange gown complemented by gold heels. However, as they posed on the blue carpet, Teigen’s heel snagged the hem of her elegant dress, causing her to halt unexpectedly.
Exhibiting his usual grace, Legend knelt to assist his wife, while another individual stepped in to help. Despite their efforts, a few beads from the gown scattered across the carpet, marking the dress’s delicate nature.
Displaying her trademark humor, Teigen shrugged off the fashion faux pas and continued to pose alongside Legend, who sported a stylish ensemble featuring a tan trench coat and coordinating high-waisted trousers.
Since tying the knot in September 2013, Teigen and Legend have been celebrated for their lighthearted and playful relationship. Illustrating this, Teigen shared a cheeky Instagram Story on Monday, quipping about her desire to catch the “Magic Mike Live” show while in Vegas.
“After you’re done performing, should we just, like, go to ‘Magic Mike’ or something?” she asked the “All of Me” singer while lying in bed and laughing.
She later asked him if he got the run of the show yet, before murmuring to the camera, “So we could go see ‘Magic Mike.’”
Teigen, 40, revealed the surprising secret to her 12-year marriage to Legend in January.
“For all he knows, I have never farted or pooped,” she told E! News.
“You got to keep the sexy and preserve the sexy in a little bit of ways,” she explained. “I won’t say that John necessarily does that all the time, but I make sure that I do.”
The couple shares four children together — Luna, 9, Miles, 7, and 2-year-olds Esti and Wren.
Legend, 47, candidly shared during his appearance on “Call Her Daddy” in March 2023, that he keeps his sex life alive with his wife by locking their kids out of their room.
He also called his wife’s sense of humor her “hottest” quality.
“It’s probably obvious, but she makes me laugh all of the time and I think that just changes your whole world when you have somebody around you that makes you laugh,” Legend shared.
“Even when you go through the worst things … when [your partner] has a sense of humor it just makes life better, it really does,” he added.
