JoJo Siwa revealed that an ovarian cyst rupture led to her emergency room visit just before her planned performance at the Mall of America.

WASHINGTON — The 22-year-old entertainer and former “Dance Moms” sensation, JoJo Siwa, assured fans she is “doing all right” after experiencing intense stomach pain that prompted a hospital visit mere hours before her Black Friday show.

Siwa conveyed her health status through TikTok, following an earlier post showing her on a stretcher, which was ahead of her November 28th event at Minnesota’s Mall of America. She mentioned enduring stomach pain for several days, which escalated significantly on Friday morning.

“Whenever I danced or even walked in the past few days, my stomach would hurt a lot,” she explained.

Initially suspecting menstrual cramps, the pain soon became unbearable, affecting her breathing. Siwa attempted to ease the discomfort with a bath, but it exacerbated the pain “100 times worse,” making her feel on the verge of fainting or vomiting.

Siwa called her mother, who eventually contacted paramedics. Although EMTs said her vitals looked normal, the pain remained severe, and she was taken to the hospital. Doctors performed an ultrasound and determined that “one of my ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into my stomach,” Siwa said.

“That’s what was causing the excruciating pain,” she explained.

Siwa said she received pain medication and was discharged within two hours. Despite the scare, she still performed at the Mall of America later that day.

She told fans she is not “100% yet” and will need a follow-up appointment in the coming week, but doctors expect the issue to resolve on its own. For now, Siwa said she plans to keep working while monitoring her symptoms.

“The good news is we know what it is, and I think that brought a lot of peace of mind to me,” she said.
