Journalist Michael Tracey thrown out of Jeffrey Epstein event

() An independent journalist says he was kicked out of a news conference for trying to ask a question during a gathering of dozens of survivors of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

Michael Tracey, who wrote The Idiocy of the Epstein Mythology, told “On Balance” he feels that the case lawyers, politicians, and alleged victims of Epstein (adjudicated or not) are “unaccustomed to ever being asked even a mildly critical question.”

“They go absolutely berserk when somebody such as myself attempts to do so,” Tracey says about their reaction. “And then they launch into a mob and want me thrown out.”

Tracey, invited to the event by Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna, acknowledged it was Marjorie Taylor Greene who was “calling for him to be thrown out. He was removed by Capitol police, which was visibly objected to by Khanna.

Tracey wanted to address lawyer Bradley Edwards

Tracey said he waited for his turn to ask a “pertinent question” to Bradley Edwards.

Edwards, a lawyer, was one of the main legal antagonists of Epstein and represented several of his reported victims, including Virginia Giuffre.

“Throughout this press conference, Virginia Roberts Giuffre was being spoken of as this truth-telling martyr, as though she had an unblemished record of credibility,” Tracey said.

“She was the one who actually spawned, in large part, the initial theory that Epstein orchestrated a massive pedophile ring and enforced it through a blackmail operation which ensnared prominent people.”

Giuffre, five years ago, claimed that Epstein trafficked her to Alan Dershowitz, Epstein’s lawyer. She withdrew the claim two years later, admitting she “may have made a mistake” in identifying him as an abuser.

Dershowitz has completely denied any wrongdoing.

Gathering called for DOJ to release all Epstein files

Participants at the news conference called for the Department of Justice to release all government files related to the investigation and that anyone complicit be held accountable.

Earlier this week, the GOP-led House Oversight Committee released over 33,000 documents related to Epstein after it subpoenaed the Justice Department for them. This came despite President Trump continuing to be dismissive of the pressure to release the files.

“It reminds me a little of the (John F.) Kennedy situation,” Trump said. “We gave them everything over and over and over again … and nobody’s ever satisfied.”
