The camaraderie between The View and Marjorie Taylor Greene seems to be growing stronger. On Wednesday, November 26, Joy Behar gave a nod to the Georgia representative during the show, discussing Greene’s surprising announcement about stepping down from Congress.

“Our new best friend, Marjorie Taylor Greene, has announced she’s leaving Congress,” Behar playfully remarked, eliciting laughter from her co-hosts and the audience.

This lighthearted acknowledgment follows recent buzz about Greene possibly joining The View as a co-host, a rumor that Behar quickly quashed during Monday’s episode. She took the opportunity to clarify the situation while also explaining the absence of Whoopi Goldberg from the show.

Goldberg has been missing from The View since November 13, as she is currently in Italy working on a soap opera project. Behar reassured viewers that Goldberg’s absence is only temporary.

Behar shut down the rumors during Monday’s episode while addressing why Whoopi Goldberg has been absent from The View for over a week. Goldberg hasn’t been on The View since Nov. 13 as she’s been away filming a soap opera in Italy.

“Don’t worry, she’s not being replaced by Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Behar joked during Monday’s broadcast.

After Greene announced she would be resigning from Congress in January, people on social media speculated that it would only be a matter of time before she pivots to becoming a political commentator.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene will now work as a private citizen on a grassroots level to get hired as a cohost on The View,” one social media user wrote on X.

Greene recently appeared on The View, where she left the co-hosts shocked by how much they agreed on topics such as the government shutdown and the war in Gaza.

“I’m sitting here just stumped, because you are a very different person than I thought you were,” Sunny Hostin told her at the time, to which Greene replied, “Well, you’ve only seen me in clips and headlines, and that’s not fair.”

Hostin continued, “I feel like I’m sitting next to a completely different Marjorie Taylor Greene. Why the change? Why the evolution? You’ve gone so far right, you’re on the left now.”

Greene maintained that she is definitely “not on the left,” but said, “All of this two-party fighting, you guys are all victims of the political industrial complex. It’s built on fundraising and fighting and toxic garbage. That exists all over social media, but it’s not gonna solve our problems in this country.”
