Joy Taylor blasts NFL scouts after Shedeur Sanders' draft fall

NFL talent evaluators spent nearly five full rounds passing over Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders last week.

Joy Taylor, the FS1 host and sister of Hall-of-Fame defensive end Jason Taylor, doesn’t care.

‘With all due respect, I don’t care about quarterback evaluators,’ she told her FS1 cohosts during a recent segment.

Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, he shocking fell to the 144th overall pick on Saturday before being taken by the Cleveland Browns – a team with four healthy quarterbacks and the injured Deshaun Watson now on the roster.

But while Sanders has faced criticism over his private interviews with teams, his game remains a subject of much debate among football fans, coaches, and NFL decision makers – all of whom are ‘clueless,’ according to Taylor.

‘You don’t know what you’re talking about,’ she said of quarterback evaluators. ‘They do not know how to evaluate the quarterback position.

‘There is an insurmountable amount of evidence that you are completely clueless when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks,’ she added. ‘No one knows how to evaluate quarterbacks!’

Taylor has since faced considerable backlash for the take, much of which attacked her for being a woman.

The non-sexist responses weren’t much kinder.

‘It’s a bad take and clearly a pander to Sheduer (sic),’ one fan wrote on X, misspelling Sanders’ first name.

‘This is why stopped watching tv,’ another added.

‘Has joy taylor ever heard of the green bay packers ?’ another fan asked, alluding to that franchise’s history identifying overlooked signal callers like Bart Starr, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers and current starter Jordan Love.

Another commenter turned Taylor’s line of thinking around and applied it the first-overall pick.

‘So did the evaluatiors (sic) get it wrong with Cam Ward as well?’ that commenter asked, referring to the Tennessee Titans rookie.

Shedeur’s father, Deion, is also blasting the attacks on his son.

‘A lie don’t care who tells it or repeats it. Its goal is to be heard,’ Deion wrote on X.

‘The truth could be standing right in front of u consistently for years but u don’t see it because a lie is in your mind. The Truth may not be as popular as a lie but the Truth wins in the end.’

The post comes as Shedeur’s approach to the draft process has been picked apart, with several reports sharing details of his allegedly less-than-stellar interviews with teams.

CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones in particular said that the quarterback ‘more or less sandbagged’ interviews with teams he was less interested in playing for.

‘I don’t know if he didn’t take them seriously, what it was, but he did not give it his all in some of those interviews.

Shedeur, notably, did not participate in any NFL Combine drills either, while some have pointed to the fact that he didn’t have an agent (beyond his dad representing him) as a reason he fell.

Taylor, meanwhile, is facing her own drama.

The long-time cable host was named in a sexual harassment lawsuit along with former colleague Skip Bayless earlier this year. Both Taylor and Bayless have previously denied the allegations, while Fox spokespeople said they ‘take these allegations seriously’ but ‘have no further comment.’

Interestingly, that lawsuit may be nearing a resolution.

As revealed in a court filing obtained by DailyMail.com, attorneys for both the plaintiff, former Fox Sports hair stylist Noushin Faraji, as well as the defendants have been engaged in settlement discussions. Front Office Sports was the first to report the settlement talks.

‘On March 10, 2025, the Parties mediated this matter,’ read the filing from Los Angeles County Superior Court. ‘While the Parties did not resolve at mediation, they are continuing to engage in settlement discussions with the mediator.’

Furthermore, both sides are pushing to move an initial status conference from April 22 to July 29 ‘to preserve resources.’

Filed in January, Faraji’s lawsuit accuses Bayless and Fox Sports executive Charlie Dixon of sexual harassment. Bayless is specifically accused of offering $1.5million to Faraji for sex, while Dixon is allegedly groped the stylist’s back side.

Taylor, herself, is accused of dismissing Faraji’s sexual harassment complaints against Bayless and Fox Sports executive Dixon, allegedly telling the hair stylist to ‘get over it.’
