A JSO spokesperson said the man was shot inside a home after neighbors heard a “loud conversation” between the people inside.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead after Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigators said he was shot inside a house following “loud conversation” with other people in the home on Ricker Road near Jacksonville’s McGirts Creek neighborhood Monday night.

A JSO spokesperson said officers were called to the scene at the 7400 block of Ricker Road to reports of a person shot.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders were called for medical assistance, but the man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators spoke to neighbors who told them they heard “loud conversation” coming from inside the home just before the shooting, police said.

Police said the man was shot inside the house, and investigators are still working to learn what exactly led up to the shooting.

Three people are detained and considered persons of interest. The JSO spokesperson said it’s unclear at this time what their relationship was to the man shot.
