A shooting incident occurred at Lindsey Terrace Apartments, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In the early hours of Wednesday, a woman was taken to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to her face during a dispute with her boyfriend at an apartment complex situated in Jacksonville’s Argyle Forest area, according to authorities.
JSO Sgt. Christopher Smith detailed that officers responded to a call regarding the shooting shortly after midnight at the Lindsey Terrace Apartments, located at 8500 Argyle Business Loop.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a woman in her mid-30s who had been shot in the face. She was promptly taken to the hospital, where she was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Preliminary findings from the investigation indicated that the woman was visiting her boyfriend, a man in his 60s. During the visit, an argument escalated, resulting in gunfire.
According to Smith, the woman was able to escape the apartment at some point and flag down a security guard to call 911.
“At this time, everybody is detained,” Smith said. “We’re still speaking with everybody, getting the full scope of what happened tonight. But at this time, this is an isolated incident with no further threat to the public.”
