The New York Mets appear to be facing yet another injury dilemma involving their star player Juan Soto.
During Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Soto made an early exit in the sixth inning, with the team citing “left calf soreness” as the reason for his departure.
Up until that point at Citi Field, the formidable hitter had been on base twice, courtesy of two walks.
Following Soto’s exit, Jorge Polanco stepped in to fill his spot in the lineup.
This incident adds to a growing list of injury troubles for Soto, who has already faced other sidelining setbacks over the past three months.
In April, Soto missed 15 games after he was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right calf issue.
He later experienced back soreness in June that forced him to exit a game against the Cubs and kept him out of the subsequent one.
The 27-year-old also left a game against the Phillies earlier this month due to mild left calf cramping/soreness.
