Kelly Ripa Offers To Read A Book Aloud To Mark Consuelos After He Tells ‘Live’ He Attended A Book Party For “Smart People”

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have unlocked a new relationship goal: having your partner be your “human Audible.”

During an episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Consuelos shared with the audience his eventful night in New York City. He attended a book party where he interacted with some highly influential individuals, leaving him feeling intellectually inspired.

At the event, Consuelos mentioned that he hoped to absorb some of the intellectualism surrounding him, even jokingly believing it could transfer to him through osmosis.

Ripa added, “I saw how proud you were when you walked in clutching your book.”

One interesting detail from the evening was Consuelos leaving behind a book in his dressing room. The book in question was titled Indian Genius: The Meteoric Rise of Indians in America by Meenakshi “Meena” Ahmed. Consuelos praised Ahmed as a remarkable individual, describing her presence as deeply impactful, capable of reaching people on a profound level.

He continued singing the praises of Ahmed’s book, sharing that she “wrote this book about the great immigrants that came from India and have not only changed the fabric of life here in the United States, but across the world.”

Eventually, with the help of Live EP Michael Gelman, the book was placed on the co-host’s desk, where Consuelos could pick it up and show the audience.

“Anyway, it was a good night for me,” he added.

Consuelos’ praise convinced Ripa to check it out, and she even offered to “read it aloud” to him.

Consuelos asked, “Will you read it to me?”

Ripa replied, “Yes, I will. I will happily read it to you.”

Consuelos quipped, “Because I love you as my Audible.”

Ripa explained, “I am his human Audible. When he’s reading a book and he starts falling asleep, he’s like, ‘Will you read me this?’ And I say, ‘They have Audible versions.’ And he’s like, ‘I like the way you do it.’”

With a smile on his face, Consuelos agreed, “Nothing makes me happier.”
