Police officer shot near Annie Mattox Park in Lake City

The ​Lake City Police Department is asking the community to avoid the area around Annie Mattox Park.

LAKE CITY, Fla. — A police officer was shot near Annie Mattox Park Sunday night, according to the Lake City Police Department.

Police said there are no other reports of anyone being shot. 


The officer’s condition was not immediately provided by police, but officials said the officer was taken to a hospital in Gainesville.

Police are asking the community to avoid the area at this time.
