Lake City police investigating 'suspicious death' outside of Home Depot

LAKE CITY, Fla. — The Lake City Police Department told First Coast News Tuesday it is investigating a “suspicious death” after an individual was found unresponsive in a car outside of a Home Depot. 

The police department said officers responded to the Home Depot, located at 215 Southwest Home Depot Dr., at 12:17 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, police said they discovered the unresponsive individual was dead. 

After the scene was secured, detectives took over to begin their investigation, a statement from the agency said. The identity of the victim is being withheld until family members are notified. 

No further details were provided by police on the incident.
