President-elect Donald Trump gave executive authority to his family on their inaugural fashion choices.

Lara Trump expressed her confidence in the team’s ability to handle the upcoming tasks, mentioning that they are all on the same page and have earned her husband’s trust. She emphasized that their focus should be on more significant matters than just deciding what to wear for the inauguration ceremonies.

When selecting her inauguration looks, Lara, 42, kept the colors of the American flag in mind.

“I always want to err on the side of patriotic colors, but not go too overboard. So I will say that I feel I will achieve that,” she said.

She shared her plans to wear a gown by the well-known fashion designer Oscar Garcia-Lopez to the three inauguration balls she is scheduled to attend. Oscar Garcia-Lopez had previously designed a dress for Lara Trump for Trump’s inauguration in 2017.

For Sunday’s candlelight dinner with donors, Lara will wear a dress by the Italian designer Chiara Boni, who also made a gown for her in 2017.

Looking back at the memorable moments of the 2017 inauguration, Lara Trump mentioned her desire to recreate the same magic and excitement for the upcoming event. She is hopeful for another remarkable and unforgettable experience this time around.

Lara, who is married to Eric Trump — the youngest of Trump and his first wife Ivana’s three children — said her other half did not weigh in on her sartorial choices.

“Oh gosh, he’s probably seen me put these things on multiple times and he probably hasn’t even realized it. He trusts my judgment on all of this,” she said.

“And in fact, I’ve had to assist him in his own outfit as well, as probably many wives are doing in general.”

She won’t be color coordinating with Eric, or anyone else in the family, and doesn’t even know what the other Trump women will be wearing for the occasion.

“A lot of people have asked me if those of us in the family talked about different colors so we don’t match, but we have not,” she said. “So I guess it will be kind of a surprise to all of us when we show up on Monday.”

This is the first time she’ll also be dressing her two kids, Luke, 7, and Carolina, 6, for the historic event.

“This is a new one for me because I was actually pregnant with my son, who’s my oldest, at the inauguration in 2017,” she said.

“They have what I think are very nice looking outfits for everything. I did try to coordinate their outfits together.”

Lara said their children are “very excited” about their grandfather’s big day.

“We told them we’re having a big party to celebrate grandpa, and everybody wants to come.”
