Romanucci & Blandin, the legal team advocating for the family of Renee Good, disclosed the initial results of an independent autopsy this Wednesday.

In Washington, the preliminary findings of the autopsy shed light on the circumstances surrounding the death of Renee Good, who was tragically shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis earlier this month. According to the report, Good sustained three definitive gunshot injuries along with a fourth graze wound.

The autopsy revealed a gunshot wound on Good’s left forearm, which led to soft tissue hemorrhaging. Another bullet struck her right breast, but fortunately, it did not penetrate any major organs. A more critical wound was identified on the left side of her head, near the temple, exiting on the right side. Additionally, the report identified a graze wound, which did not penetrate the body but was consistent with a firearm injury.

Experts highlighted that the wounds on the breast and forearm were not immediately life-threatening, offering some context to the nature of the injuries she sustained.

Officials noted that the breast and forearm wounds were not immediately life-threatening.

The results of the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy have not yet been released to the public or the legal team, the law firm said.

“We believe the evidence we are gathering and will continue to gather in our investigation will suffice to prove our case. The video evidence depicting the events of Jan. 7, 2026, is clear, particularly when viewed through the standards of reasonable policing and totality of circumstances,” the lead attorney, Antonio M. Romanucci, said in a statement. “Additionally, our legal team will continue its unwavering and proactive advocacy for Renee’s life and her family.”

Good’s family hired the Chicago law firm Romanucci & Blandin last week to represent them. The law firm is the same one that represented George Floyd’s family.

Good was reportedly acting as a legal observer of Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Minneapolis when she died, but the circumstances that led to her death have been contested by local and federal authorities.

The Department of Homeland Security claimed she attempted to drive her vehicle into ICE agents. One of those agents, Jonathan Ross, reported that he feared for his life and shot her dead.

Videos of the scene and incident were posted online. Some Minneapolis city leaders believe the videos challenge the DHS claims.
