LOS ANGELES — Time to grab your ‘ohana and settle in—the live-action “Lilo & Stitch” is coming to Disney+!

This reimagined take on the beloved Disney classic is just as funny and heartwarming as the original, capturing the magic that made the story so special.

The movie follows a lonely girl named Lilo who adopts Stitch, an alien she mistakes for a puppy. Together, they form an unlikely bond that helps heal Lilo’s broken family, all while Stitch stirs up chaos across the Hawaiian Islands.

Lilo is played by Maia Kealoha, whose vibrant personality and youthful energy have gone viral online.

The film zoomed past $1 billion at the global box office, becoming the first movie of 2025 to reach that milestone. Plus, a sequel is already in the works.

It also set a record as the highest-grossing four-day Memorial Day weekend opening in U.S. history.
