Lindsay Clancy Case: Evidence Reveals Chilling Plot Details

“In my view, she possessed the ability to distinguish between right and wrong,” testified Dr. Saathoff, offering insight into the case.

He based this assertion on several observations, which he detailed during his testimony.

Just a day before, Clancy had a meeting with Dr. Jennifer Tufts, where she firmly denied any thoughts of suicide or harm toward others. The discussion also touched on plans for her future treatment.

Dr. Saathoff mentioned observing what he described as ‘preparatory planning.’ This was evident in her online searches for routes to the restaurant 3V and CVS. These were made prior to asking her husband about ordering takeout, cleverly suggesting a stop at the pharmacy to add another errand.

Further, Dr. Saathoff contended that she waited for an opportune moment when no one was watching to carry out the crime. She needed uninterrupted time to harm her children and herself, according to the medic’s testimony.

‘She was conscious of time,’ he said, adding that this was seen in the locking of the door to delay Patrick from entering the bedroom.

The weapons used – the exercise bands – being readily available and nearby also shows planning, he said.

And the phone call between her and Patrick was said to be significant. Clancy called her ex-husband back, showing presence of mind to conceal from him what was going on, Dr Saathoff said.

‘It is my opinion, within a reasonable degree of medical certainty, that Lindsay Clancy was criminally responsible,’ he added.
