Tiny dog Frannie's big impact: Donations pour in to help other pups

Four years ago, a tiny dog named Frannie ran into her postman’s arms and into the hearts of hundreds of thousands.

Today, she is still running, but now she’s also changing lives.

It started with a tail wag and turned into a tidal wave of love.

Four years ago, Lisa Laskey casually recorded her pup, Frannie, bolting out to greet postman Dan. She posted it, and the internet exploded.

Her loyal fan base, 300,000 and counting, has watched the daily run with Frannie and now, her new sister, Gracie Bean, more than 700 times. They call themselves “Frannie Nation.”

So when Gracie Bean’s birthday rolled around this year, Lisa went to that loyal base with a heartfelt request – to help other fur babies.

Almost Home Foundation is a local shelter helping dogs and cats on the brink of being euthanized was struggling to keep up.

She hoped the joy that Frannie and Gracie brought others could be the inspiration to help others.

“To make sure we were paying it forward and making a difference in other dogs’ lives,” she said.

And sure enough, Frannie Nation donations poured in, totaling over $20,000 within just weeks.

The donations were enough for the  Almost Home Foundation to expand and save even more animals.

From viral videos to real-world rescue, Frannie and Gracie’s little legs have made a big impact.

Over the past few years, the Almost Home Foundation has been able to save nearly 18,000 dogs, a number that will continue to grow with this new support.
