Hakeem Robinson, a Jacksonville rapper known as Ksoo, is on trial for the murder of Charles McCormick. Testimony continues as Robinson’s father could take the stand.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Day three in the trial for Jacksonville rapper Hakeem Robinson, known as Ksoo, continues Friday.
Robinson, 26, and Leroy Whitaker, 24, are on trial together for the January 2020 murder of Charles McCormick, however, both men have separate juries.
McCormick was shot to death in a shopping center on Merrill Road on Jan. 15, 2020.
During opening statements Wednesday, prosecutors called the murder for Robinson personal and argued that a “diss track” created by McCormick, which referenced Robinson’s slain brother Willie Addison, created the motive for the crime.
Meanwhile Tara Kawass, one of Robinson’s attorneys, stressed discrepancies between his appearance and the man seen on dashcam video of the murder committing the killing.
Several people took the stand to testify on Thursday, including a woman who described what she saw at the murder scene and the officer who engaged in the subsequent pursuit following the murder.
