The court is expected to hear from witnesses, and the rapper’s father, Abdul Robinson Sr., is expected to testify against his son as part of a plea deal.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Day two in the trial for Jacksonville rapper Hakeem Robinson, known as Ksoo, continues Thursday.
Robinson, 26, and Leroy Whitaker, 24, are on trial together for the January 2020 murder of Charles McCormick, however, both men have separate juries.
McCormick was shot to death in a shopping center on Merrill Road on Jan. 15, 2020.
During opening statements Wednesday, prosecutors called the murder for Robinson personal and argued that a “diss track” created by McCormick, which referenced Robinson’s slain brother Willie Addison, created the motive for the crime.
Meanwhile Tara Kawass, one of Robinson’s attorneys, stressed discrepancies between his appearance and the man seen on dashcam video of the murder committing the killing.
Thursday, the two juries are expected to hear from witnesses, and Robinson’s father, Abdul Robinson Sr., is expected to testify against his son as part of a plea deal.
