Luke Daley, Briefly Detained, Arrested Again in Nancy Guthrie Probe

An Arizona man previously detained and released without charges during the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s unsolved abduction has been arrested again, authorities said. The new arrest involves unrelated allegations.

“Luke Daley was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on September 30, 2026,” a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson told News Media. “This is unrelated to the Nancy Guthrie case.”

Daley, 37, has an extensive criminal history that includes previous felony convictions. On Feb. 13, police stopped him in the parking lot of a Culver’s restaurant and searched his mother’s home as part of the investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance. The residence is about two miles from Guthrie’s home in Tucson’s Catalina Foothills.

“Mr. Daley has no link whatsoever to Nancy Guthrie and has no information related to her kidnapping,” his attorney, Chris Scileppi, said after Daley’s release. “Like the entire Tucson community, both Mr. Daley and his mother are hopeful that Nancy will be returned to her family unharmed.”

Daley was already facing drug and firearm charges and was on probation in a separate case involving drug and weapons violations. Prosecutors have asked the court to revoke that probation.
