Plenty of Hollywood stars own lavish estates, but only one – that we know of – has a zip code all to himself.
A recently acquired set of aerial photographs from the Daily Mail displays the sheer size of Will Smith’s 25,000 square-foot adobe-style residence. The mansion is situated on a 150-acre estate not in Bel Air, where his television character resided, but in Calabasas, a community within the San Fernando Valley.
This impressive property provides ample space for the 56-year-old actor, especially now that his children have grown up and his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith (53 years old), reportedly moved out in 2016 – a decision made long before the infamous incident where Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards in defense of his wife.
Back in 1997, around the time of their marriage, the Smiths collaborated with architect Stephen Samuelson. The design inspiration for their adobe-style mansion stemmed from Samuelson’s previous work on Gene Hackman’s retreat in Santa Fe.
The result was a supersize home whose interior is as lush and meditative as its exterior is sports focused. It also has an extension, with a curved roof and symbols that appear to be Superman-style ‘S’ markings, presumably standing for Smith.
Once featured in Architectural Digest, the home draws on design inspirations from Morocco, the Middle East, Turkey and the Mediterranean. It includes handmade woodwork and metal smithing, bespoke plaster work and stonemasonry, and warm-toned upholstery from all over the world.

Despite his career taking a hit after his infamous clash with Chris Rock over a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia, 56-year-old Will Smith finds solace in his sprawling Calabasas compound – a luxurious escape from the glare of Hollywood drama

The 150-acre compound is so large that it comes with its own zip code. Centered in the middle of the plot is a 25,000 square-foot adobe-style mansion surrounded by pools, extracurricular facilities, ponds and shrubbery

The adobe-style mansion was commissioned by Smith and Pickett Smith after they married in 1997. They teamed up with architect Stephen Samuelson to create a design inspired by architecture in Morocco, the Middle East, Turkey and the Mediterranean
‘We wanted to feel the love and labor that went into every piece of this place,’ the former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actor told Architectural Digest.
The home boasts nine bedrooms, a meditation room with a circular skylight, a professional-grade recording studio and a home cinema wing complete with a screening room, projection booth, men’s and women’s restrooms and what floor plans call an ‘accolades lounge’ where guests can discuss the movie when it’s over.
Other highlights include an atrium bar, tea house, crafts room, potting room, workout room and bowling alley.
For more cardio, the grounds include a sunken trampoline and tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, the latter with built-in amphitheater-style seating.
A ‘doggie mansion’ houses the actor’s beloved rottweilers. The property also features a pool and lake with a bridge that leads to a Japanese-inspired tea house surrounded by trees.
The tea house features private lounge beds and a fire pit, which the actor has said is his favorite spot to relax.

Pinkett, 53, says she packed up and moved out in 2016 – well before Smith infamously slapped Academy Awards host Chris Rock in her defense six years later

‘Answers come to me out there,’ he told Architectural Digest.
Trucks and buses owned by Smith’s son, Jaden, can be seen parked on the property, as can a large ‘I Love You’ food truck, which Jaden launched on his 21st birthday back in July 2019. The truck served free vegan meals to homeless people in Los Angeles.
The elder Smith’s most infamous multi-wheeled purchase, however, was a $2.5million two-story motorhome where he lived while on location for his acting gigs. He dubbed the monstrosity, ‘The Heat.’
Speaking of heat, the hot-headed actor had to renovate his Calabasas property after a basement fire in 2021 caused smoke damage. Although family members were reportedly home at the time, nobody was hurt, several news outlets reported.
Smith’s agents did not return our phone calls for this story.
Although the Calabasas property is the jewel of Smith’s real estate holdings, he is reported to own other homes in California, Pennsylvania and Hawaii worth a combined value of $63million.

It is unclear who, if anyone, is living with him in Calabasas, the San Fernando Valley community where local townsfolk have included Jennifer Lopez, Miley Cyrus, Drake and several of the Kardashians.
Smith’s compound was briefly listed for sale for $42million in 2014 but was later yanked off the market.
It was two years later that, as Pinkett Smith has since told ‘Today’ host Hoda Kotb, she moved out of the marital home. She said she and Smith have been living ‘completely separate lives’ ever since.
Their awkward relationship made headlines in 2022 when, the same evening Smith won the best actor Oscar for his role as Richard Williams in the sports drama King Richard, he clobbered Chris Rock live onstage during the 94th Academy Awards.
The offense: a joke Rock, who was hosting the show, cracked about Pinkett Smith’s baldness from alopecia, an autoimmune condition that causes hair loss.
‘Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth,’ Smith yelled in what he tried to spin as an act of chivalry, but critics questioned as a sign of untreated mental illness.

Smith and Pinkett Smith photographed together on the infamous night at the Oscars when the actor got into an altercation with Rock. Even though the duo now live separately, they remain legally married in what she’s described as a ‘life partnership’
Since that so-called ‘slap heard around the world,’ Smith told BBC Radio 1Xtra that he’s done a lot of ‘internal work’, a ‘deep reflection’ and ‘took a big, strong, honest look at myself.’
‘For the first time in my career, [I was] having to deal with a level of disapproval that I never had to experience,’ Smith said.
‘The addiction to the approval of others that I had to dissolve, it was brutal. It was just like there was a manhole cover over some unexplored areas and the manhole cover came off.’
Smith has been photographed with his estranged wife only once since that embarrassing evening – during the Hollywood premier of ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ in May 2024.
The couple shares two adult children, Jaden and Willow, and Pinkett Smith helped raise Smith’s son, Trey, from his previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.
Despite their estrangement, the elder Smiths remain legally married in what Pinkett Smith described as a ‘life partnership.’
