Luxury Richard Mille Watches Stolen During F1 Weekend, Valued at Hundreds of Thousands

During the bustling Formula One weekend at the Circuit of The Americas, a group was allegedly involved in the theft of luxury watches valued in the hundreds of thousands, as stated in court documents from Travis County.

The Austin Police Department has described these thefts as a well-organized criminal operation, highlighting the meticulous planning and coordination involved.

According to court records, the group specifically targeted affluent individuals adorned with high-end luxury timepieces. These watches, some retailing for hundreds of thousands of dollars, became prime targets for the thieves.

The documents reveal a cunning tactic used by the group: a woman would feign a fall, and as unsuspecting victims extended a hand to assist her, she would discreetly remove their watches. This method resulted in the theft of at least two Richard Mille watches, as reported by the Austin Police Department.

Police said the woman worked with a group of men, who assaulted the victims while the watches were removed.

According to court documents, police were able to arrest one of the suspects, a 39-year-old woman, after one of the victims witnessed the same thing happening to another person the next day at COTA.

While executing a search warrant, police found that the woman involved in the crimes and a group of others were staying at a short-term rental in Lago Vista during the race weekend.
