Three brands—El Mas Fino, Los Cabos, and Midamar—are at the center of a significant product recall.

WASHINGTON — M.C.I. Foods Inc. has issued a recall for approximately 91,585 pounds of ready-to-eat frozen breakfast burritos and wraps. The concern? A potential Listeria contamination involving products containing eggs.

Based in Santa Fe Springs, California, the company revealed that the affected breakfast burritos and wraps were produced between September 17 and October 14, 2025.

The recalled items, which bear the labels El Mas Fino, Los Cabos, and Midamar, can be identified by their establishment numbers, EST. 1162A or P-5890A, printed on the packaging.

The issue came to light during routine testing conducted on the scrambled egg component, as reported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Some of these recalled burritos are included in the USDA’s National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, according to the recall.

No illnesses have been reported in connection to the recall, but health officials encourage people with symptoms to contact their healthcare provider.

Listeria infections can be especially dangerous for children, pregnant women, adults over 65 and people with weakened immune systems. The bacteria can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that may lead to fever, muscle aches, headaches, stiff neck, confusion and loss of balance.

For pregnant women, listeria can cause miscarriages, stillbirths or life-threatening infections in newborns. While less common, healthy adults outside high-risk groups can also become ill.

People in high-risk categories who develop flu-like symptoms within two months of eating contaminated food should seek medical attention and inform their healthcare provider about the potential exposure.

The recall encourages people to throw the frozen products away. Anyone with questions can contact M.C.I. Foods Inc. at 888-345-5364.
