MAD DADS Jacksonville, alongside the family of Baron Greenwade III, plans to take to the streets of the Grand Park neighborhood this weekend in a quest for justice and answers surrounding his untimely death.

On Saturday, October 25, at 11 a.m., the group will lead a community walk and canvassing effort, beginning at 2332 West 17th Street, where they hope to uncover information about the tragic murder of the 21-year-old father.

“They are seeking justice not only for Baron but also for his young daughter, who is just two years old,” stated AJ Jordan, Vice President of MAD DADS, emphasizing the family’s desire for closure.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that the fatal shooting occurred around 1 p.m. on Monday, October 6, on the same block of West 17th Street, adding urgency to the community’s call for information.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened around 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 on that same block of West 17th Street.

When officers arrived, they found Greenwade inside a car. He had been shot multiple times and died at the hospital.

“From what we understand, he walked out to his car to get something out the trunk and somebody came up and shot him in cold blood,” said Jordan.

Now, MAD DADS and Greenwade’s family are calling on the community to come forward with information.

“We care about his life and so we are knocking on doors to let people know it’s still a killer out here and we need your help to help get the killer or killers off our street.”

Jordan tells First Coast News many residents want to see a safer community, one free of violence that’s taken so many young lives.

“Most of our residents want a crime-free city. They don’t want murderers running around our city, so we get a good reception and hopefully, we get some results.”

If you know anything about the shooting death of Baron Greenwade III, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
