In a disturbing turn of events, a suspect was apprehended shortly after launching a Molotov cocktail at a wheelchair-bound victim near the police headquarters in Oklahoma City, according to local authorities.
The harrowing encounter was captured by surveillance cameras positioned outside the HQ. The footage reveals the man in the wheelchair crossing a street diagonally at approximately 8 a.m. on July 2. Following closely, another individual crosses the street, then turns back to confront the wheelchair user.
In the footage, the suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, can be seen igniting an object before tossing the fiery projectile at the man in the wheelchair.

Immediately after the explosive object was thrown, the victim found himself briefly engulfed in flames as the suspect audaciously pushed the wheelchair. Thankfully, the timely intervention by law enforcement brought the shocking episode to a quick resolution.
A passing vehicle could be seen stopping, and two people got out. A nearby Oklahoma City police detective and a bystander pulled the victim from the fire while another police officer detained the suspect.

The victim suffered minor injuries, was treated at a hospital, and is expected to recover, according to local media.
The suspect faces multiple felony charges, including assault with intent to kill and assault and battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.
