Witnesses recounted a horrifying scene and said a man fell from the ride.

A witness told local station WXIA that the man appeared in the group’s souvenir photograph as he fell.

“He was in our pictures,” the witness told WXIA. “He fell and hit the car three different times.”

The 200-foot-tall hypercoaster came to a stop, leaving riders stranded on the track while emergency crews worked to evacuate them. Video from the scene showed passengers climbing out of the train before descending a staircase suspended high above the ground.
