LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A jury found a man guilty Thursday of killing a man and disposing of his body in a barrel, a court spokesperson said.

The jury returned the guilty verdict against Ryan Bentley, 45, on charges of murder with the use of a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit murder.

At the time of his arrest in 2022, police accused Bentley of killing Rene Enriquez at a home near Washington Avenue and Jones Boulevard. A county worker later discovered Enriquez’s remains in a barrel near Quail Avenue and Palm Street.

In court documents, prosecutors and detectives alleged Bentley shot Enriquez for snitching on him and his friend group. Enriquez was described as Bentley’s “friend of a friend” and was planning to move into Bentley’s home, documents said.

The coroner’s office identified Enriquez’s remains from his tattoos, documents said.

A judge will sentence Bentley on April 24.
