JSO: Teen fatally shot near Eureka Garden Apartments in Hillcrest area

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says everyone involved in the incident is currently in custody.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was hospitalized in Jacksonville early Monday morning after being shot during a fight with the person who shot him, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO’s Sergeant Scott told First Coast News that around midnight, officers responded to the 6800 block of Commonwealth Avenue in reference to the shooting. When they arrived, the man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

He was then taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in non-life-threatening condition, according to Scott.

“Everyone involved in this incident is currently in custody,” Scott said in a statement. “We believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the community.”
