BURGETTSTOWN, PA. (WTRF)- An Ohio man is dealing with ongoing health problems after being struck in the head with a beer can at a Jason Aldean concert earlier this month.

According to our media partners The Herald-Star, Michael Mollenkopf was hit from behind during Aldean’s Aug. 9 show at The Pavilion at Star Lake. He added that when he came to, he was surrounded by medical staff and security guards and eventually transported to WVU Medicine Weirton hospital. Doctors diagnosed him with multiple concussions.

Mollenkopf said his condition initially seemed to improve in the days after the concert, but his symptoms later returned. He woke up the following week with severe headaches and a stutter, which led to another hospital visit. He was kept in the emergency room for two days and is scheduled to meet with a neurologist.

His daughter, Isabella Dickey, was next to him when the can struck. She recalled hearing the impact and being sprayed with beer. She said the experience was frightening, especially as her father is her only surviving parent.

Mollenkopf has since filed a report with Hanover Township police. Washington County District Attorney Jason Walsh confirmed that the incident is under investigation. Hanover police did not provide additional information.

Mollenkopf and his daughter hope that someone who attended the concert may have witnessed the incident or captured it on video to help identify who threw the beer can.
