The son of a prominent billionaire in the fashion industry, whose company distributes clothing throughout the United States, was heard emotionally pleading with emergency services in a 911 call made public on Monday. He reported that his father had a tragic accident.
“I need help, my father has fallen!” Jonathan Andic exclaimed in the recording, which was obtained by the Spanish news outlet El País. “We’re in Collbató, and he has fallen down a ravine. Please send an ambulance, send someone,” he urgently requested, according to a translation from Spanish.
Jonathan, who is the son of the deceased fashion icon Isak Andic, informed the dispatcher that they were en route to the Salnitre Caves when the incident occurred. As the operator posed further inquiries, Jonathan stated, “I don’t see him, he doesn’t answer.”
Seventy-one-year-old Isak Andic was tragically killed in December 2024 after plummeting approximately 500 feet off a cliff while hiking with his son in the mountains near Barcelona. Jonathan, aged 45, was the sole witness to the incident. In May, he was taken into custody as investigators announced they were examining the circumstances of Isak’s death as a potential homicide.

According to Catalunya Ràdio, the phone call is one of the primary pieces of evidence the defense will provide in the case.
“My father has fallen, I can’t see him, he doesn’t answer me, he has fallen down the ravine, I don’t know where he is,” Jonathan can reportedly be heard saying.

Jonathan, who took over the global fashion empire with his sisters after their dad’s death, was released on one million euros bail and ordered to surrender his passport while remaining in Spain during the investigation, Reuters reported.
The younger Andic has denied wrongdoing, and the family has maintained his innocence.
“There is no legitimate evidence against him, nor will any be found,” the Andic family said in a statement, according to Reuters.
The fatal fall was initially treated as an accident, but now authorities have launched a homicide investigation.

Isak, who was born in Istanbul, moved to Catalonia in the northeast of Spain in the 1960s and founded Mango in 1984. He built it into a global group seen as a rival to Zara.
Isak was considered one of Spain’s richest businessmen and built Mango into one of Europe’s largest clothing retailers with a presence in more than 100 countries.

At the time of his death, he was non-executive chairman of Mango with a net worth of $4.5 billion according to Forbes
Jonathan Andic is the eldest of Isak Andic’s three children and one of his father’s heirs. He has been the vice chairman of the board at Mango.
